Echoes of Addis: Short Film Fest

Echoes of Addis is a short film festival curated by Ladibug Studios, bringing together the stories that drift between Addis and the habesha diaspora. Each film is selected for its heartbeat — its ability to move, linger, and travel with you long after the screen fades. During Diaspora Week, when the city fills with creatives from around the world, we invite audiences to experience the films that capture this moment of homecoming and reconnection.

We are centering the curatorial focus on imaginative perspectives of East Africa from identity and belonging to films that embody Ladibug’s ethos of “stories that travel with you.”

Our host for the evening, Meryem Sherif, will welcome audiences into our 2hr film fest experience. Doors will open at 5pm with screenings starting promptly at 6pm.

At 8pm our moderator, Lydia Fiyori, will lead a panel discussion with crew members of Qene Films representing The River short film.

Then we will close the evening with a food reception from 9-10pm. Explore our selected films below:
