Cydney Rhines
Cydney Maria Rhines, a Southwest Atlanta native practices portrait and documentary photography. She is inspired by her community, family upbringing and the urge to go out and seek more of the colorful world around her. A graduate of Georgia State University, she began her professional career in photography in 2015, preceding her enrollment in the university. However, Cydney had always been creative. Since she was a little girl, arts, crafts and her mother’s love for capturing every moment of her family evoked an interest in the arts. She credits God, her family’s fierce support and her curiosity to where she is headed in life.
Unity to me means love, connection, correction and the joyful possibility of what is to come. When we make the conscious decision to involve ourselves in the matters of those we are called to and naturally connected to, we see the world around us become more unified and understanding. However, we can’t do it alone, but sometimes it starts with one willing person to become a chain reaction and response. I’m reminded of the scripture, 1 Corinthians 13:4 “love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.” At the core of it, unity is heart work done on an individual level first.
