Rooted in careful observation and intentional construction, his portraits invite viewers to reconsider what it means to be seen.

Unity to me means a shared understanding, a sense of togetherness even in the midst of our individual differences and thoughts, A shared root & a collective strength by which we all move as one. This is a very constant theme in my upbringing in Nigeria where the culture is more community-based, with sayings like "it takes a village to raise a child" or the mere fact that older adults that you interact with as a child would be called "Uncle" or "Aunty" as a sign of respect, but also an embodiment of the Community based culture. United by a shared cultural understanding because we are all responsible for each other, and what we do doesn't just affect us but everyone around us. Unity is fundamental to any community, and the more we embrace it, the better we all are and can become. No one is as self-made as they think they are.
