The Culture Exhibit

Paige Mitchell

Paige Mitchell (b. 1993) is an artist and photographer from Clarkston, Georgia. Her practice explores place, identity, and community, examining how people hold onto who they are as the spaces around them change. Trained in public policy at Georgia State University's Andrew Young School, she brings an interdisciplinary lens to how policy shapes the places people live, making art that documents those places and sparks dialogue within them. She founded Black Girls in Art Spaces (BGIAS), an arts community for women.

Her work has been exhibited in EMERGENCE, curated by Fatou Bessum at U. Studio (2024); the EmpowerHER Exhibition, Fulton County Arts & Culture (2024); ArtForum's Spring Exhibition (2023); and Afro Arts at Hapeville Makerspace (2020). Her photography has appeared in Burnaway, Inc. (profiling Myavana co-founder Candace Mitchell Harris), and Gallerie 88. Across her work, Mitchell is committed to documenting and elevating the stories of people in the American South.

Unity means coming together with people from all walks of life and choosing togetherness over division. It's showing up, listening with open hearts, and making room at the table for all voices. Unity invites us to celebrate our differences, put ourselves in someone else's shoes, and think about the bigger pictures that values all living beings and we work together as an ecosystem. It means realizes like to love yourself, you must love your neighbor.
