"Honoring Black History Month"
Celebrating Fred Hamptons Life. He was an activist who was murdered with two bullets in his skull while unconscious during a raid that resulted in the FBI firing over 90 shots.

"Juneteenth"
In celebration of Juneteenth, we wanted to show the unraveling of chains we were once held in in front of the Pan Africanist flag which symbolizes the black liberation/unity of African descent worldwide.

"Freedom Routes"
During slavery, mainly in Columbia, African women used their hair to map out escape routes and different obstacles to communicate with each other. Bantu knots symbolized a mountain, while thick braids symbolized troops. Gold was often hidden inside the braids to ensure they would survive after they escaped.

"Unity"
In honor of women’s history month, we decided to gather multiple different ethnicities and cultures of women to show and emphasize that everything is better together.
