My name is Eric Kamusau, I was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I’m a photographer & cinematographer, my work focuses on highlighting the hidden beauty of the ordinary and exploring human emotions. I’m inspired by light and color and how the different iterations of it affects how we feel.

"Congolese Independence"
This series captures the spirit of Congolese pride and resilience. It's a visual statement that even far from home, the Congolese community continues to represent their roots, honor their identity, and stand in solodarity with those back home enduring hardship. Through color, camaraderie, and cultural symbols, it reflects how unity and pride transcend borders.

"Memories of Home"
In collaboration with Lydia Fiyori, this series explores the surreal nature of memories tied to home. In Eritrean culture, food and coffee lie at the heart of family life with symbols of warmth, connection, and belonging that unite the diaspora no matter where they live. The work follows a young girl as she recalls her early years in Eritrea through a surreal lens, where familiar objects appear out of place, mirroring the way memories can feel both vivid and disjointed. These dreamlike compositions reflect how nostalgia reshapes the past—fragmented, romanticized, and tenderly distorted by time.
